    M is for Mario Day!

My first year of kindergarten is coming to an end and it is so bittersweet! My class and I are participating in an ABC countdown and I am so excited to share some of my favorite theme days with you all!

    • I made the shirt with some Smart Cricut iron on vinyl. It says Glow Games and has Ms. Personius in the top corner! The shirt and vinyl are linked HERE, if you would like to recreate it!
    • A few weeks in advance, I made a classroom wishlist and sent it out to my families to ask for items for not only Glow Day, but other ABC countdown days!My amazon wishlist is linked HERE for you all!
    • I used 12 black lights total, varying in size, that I have collected over the years. I have linked the larger black lights I bought at the beginning of the year HERE. I also asked my families to get smaller USB black lights that plug into Chromebooks os the glow effect was more vibrant at the students desks
    • The students use highlighters for all of their work throughout the day!The yellow and green highlighters are bolder under black light!
    • I covered all my classroom windows with black butcher paper. I hang strips of butcher paper vertically over each window and I put a couple staples at the top and let hem drape down. Super easy, and you will really get quick at it the more you do it!

    STATIONS

    • Glow Bowling: Prior to Glow Day, I collect 5 plastic water bottles. The day of, I fill them 3/4 way with water, stick a glow stick in each bottle and close the lid tightly. I arrange the glow pins and let my students use a beach ball to try to knock them down.
    • Glow Sight Word Practice: Print sight word cards from my Glow Theme Bundle linked HERE on Astrobright paper. Put the cards on a ring and let students flip through them and practice writing their sight words with a bright twist!
    • Glow Games Slides: Have the students decorate a photo of you with all sorts of fun glow accessories using the Glow Games Slides linked HERE included in the Glow Theme Bundle in my TPT store!
    • Glow Scavenger Hunt: Hide the scavenger hunt cards all around the room and the students will have a blast looking for them and checking things off their list with their highlighters!
    • Glow Tic Tac Toe: I put glow tape on my carpet to create a giant tic tac toe game. I put a tray out of glow sticks and some glowsticks made into circles. The glow tape is in my amazon wishlist linked above!
